The Directorate monitors developments in multilateral diplomacy, facilitates and advises on Zimbabwe’s participation and engagements in regional and multilateral organisations. It guides the work of Zimbabwe’s Diplomatic Missions accredited to multilateral organisations.
- Implement policies, conventions and treaties governing intergovernmental and international organizations;
- Monitor and analyse emerging issues in multilateral organisations and their impact on the pursuit of Zimbabwe’s national interests;
- Coordinate Zimbabwe’s engagement with multilateral organizations;
- Lobby for the election of Zimbabwe and the employment of Zimbabwean nationals in multilateral organisations;
- Prepare briefs, position papers, speeches, statements and messages for relevant clients and stakeholders;
- Mobilize political and diplomatic support for Zimbabwe in the multilateral fora.
