Diaspora Engagements
The Government of Zimbabwe is implementing policies and initiatives to strengthen engagement with the Zimbabwe Diaspora as a key pillar of national development.
These engagement activities are expected to:
- Facilitate the development, implementation and review of policies and legislation that ensure the incorporation of the Diaspora in national development frameworks;
- Promote understanding of the role of the Diaspora in the development of Zimbabwe;
- Facilitate dialogue and information exchange between the Government and the Diaspora;
- Create a platform for skills and knowledge transfer, leveraging on the presence of the Diaspora in key markets;
- Develop and maintain a database of the Zimbabwe Diaspora;
- Promote and protect the welfare of the Zimbabwean citizens living abroad; and
- Facilitate labour agreements with other countries to promote decent international employment for qualified Zimbabwean professionals.
