Africa, Asia and the Pacific Directorate:

The Directorate coordinates the implementation of Zimbabwe’s foreign policy and principles in the regions concerned. It handles and facilitates Zimbabwe’s diplomatic engagements, bilateral relations and co-operation with countries in the respective regions, and guides the work of Zimbabwe’s Diplomatic Missions accredited to countries in these regions.

    • Recommend and implement policies governing Zimbabwe’s political and economic relations with countries in Africa, Asia and Pacific region;
    • Prepare country briefs, position papers, speeches, statements and messages for relevant clients and stakeholders;
    • Facilitate and coordinate meetings with African, Asian and the Pacific Diplomatic Missions and other Stakeholders;
    • Monitor strategic political, economic, and social developments in Africa, Asia and the Pacific region and assess their implications on sustaining Zimbabwe’s national interests.
    • Compile the Ministry’s position papers on foreign policy implementation.
    • Mobilize, political and diplomatic support consistent with Zimbabwe interests.
    • Review and monitor progress on projected outcomes and outputs.
    • Co-ordinate and asses the outcomes Zimbabwe’s participation in bi-national and joint commissions convened with countries in Africa, Asia and the Pacific.
